The Birthday Bash

Alright, several of you have asked what is taking me so long to get birthday pictures posted.  Adeline's birthday was Wednesday, but that day was pretty full and Patrick was working, so we decided to wait until Saturday for cake.  Kristin and her boys, Noah and Eli, came over to help us celebrate (Emil was working).

This was my first attempt at cake decorating.  Adeline loves stuffed animals, so I thought the teddy bear would be a good pick.

It was wonderful to have my parents here to celebrate this milestone.

Adeline means "serene, of the nobility."  This is my little princess in all her birthday glory...

How fun for your parents to be there to celebrate! Your cake looks great. I am sure Adeline enjoyed it. Happy birthday to your baby girl!

I have that same cake pan, and many of my kids' birthday cakes looked just like Adeline's! What fun memories.

It's bittersweet, isn't it, seeing how fast they reach these birthdays?

OK, A) That cake looks delicious! and B) What a fun family party, especially to have your parents there.

BTW, *love* the new header/picture!

Great job on the cake, Lynn, though I'm sure the nice frosting job didn't last too long once Adeline got her hands on it! First birthdays are so much fun... bittersweet for mommies, but a great milestone!

I'm so glad we could be there to share it with you. We wouldn't have missed it! After all, she's family to my boys now!
