So, I have a strange question for you today.  It has been on my mind since I went to the beach with three of my girlfriends a few weeks ago.  Let me paint the picture...

One friend and I were sharing a sink while we were getting ready.  She brushed her teeth, spit, and that's it.  She rinsed her toothbrush, but not her mouth.  I gave her a lot of grief for "swallowing toothpaste."  She claims she DIDN'T swallow toothpaste because she spit.  The other girls got involved.  I was sure they would back me up.  They didn't.  There were no other rinsers in our group.  I said, "Why do you think they put those paper cups in bathrooms?"  "In case you want a drink of water."  What?!?!?!  I shared the story with my husband.  He agreed that I had the craziest friends on the planet and that NORMAL people rinse.  So, for the record, do you rinse?  Comment if you wish, but please also answer the survey on the left for those who wish to remain anonymous.

Riddle of the day

My coworkers have been getting into riddles lately.  Thought this one was cute...

You throw away the outside and then cook the inside.  After that, you eat the outside and throw away the inside.  What did you eat?

Hint:  It's a normal food that you've all heard of and probably eaten.

Tiny Talk Tuesday

Linus and Violet, are at our house.  Adeline tells everyone she needs to go potty and goes into the bathroom.  This must remind Linus that he, too, needs to use the potty.  He promptly follows her in the bathroom and pulls down his pants.  The following dialogue ensues...

A:  Why do you have a tail?
L:  I DON'T have a TAIL!!!
A:  Yes you do.
L:  Peoples don't have tails! (the plural makes this statement even cuter).

When Patrick did my job for a week...

Now this is romance...

I haven't been posting a lot lately.  Life's been a bit crazy.  I know...you can't relate.  ;o)

I worked three days last week, and I am working Mon-Fri this week.  Patrick took a week of leave to stay home with the girls.  They are getting some great bonding time with daddy, and we don't have to pay a babysitter....nice.

Yesterday they went to the grocery store, Home Depot, Panera for a snack, and the park.  Today, they went to story hour at the mall followed by lunch at Chick-Fil-A (this was after doing laundry and cleaning up last night's dishes of course).  When I came home, they were sitting on the steps outside waiting for me....

My husband They had worked so hard...

This is WAY better than flowers or candy (not that those things are EVER a bad idea).  I was squealing with joy when I pulled in the driveway.  I love Adeline's cheesy-so excited grin here.  What a way to set the tone for our evening.  Sweetie, I can learn so much from you...

The dry erase marker came off Camille's skin, the furniture in the playroom, and the wall with little effort.  I've tried many products on this adorable dress with no success...yet.  Oh, and note the dot of red on Adeline's adorable, smocked dress...you can see it on the top right of the second picture.  I am NOT done trying!!!

Revealing my political leanings...

I know some of my friend's don't share my conservative political views, but a friend sent me this forward, and I thought it was quite humorous....

I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when

she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both

of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked

her, "If you were President what would be the first thing you

would do? "

She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."

Her parents beamed with pride.

"Wow...what a worthy goal." I told her, "But you don't have to

wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my

house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay

you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the

homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward

food and a new house."

She thought that over for a few seconds, and then she looked me

straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come

over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50? " I said,

"Welcome to the Republican Party."

Her parents still aren't speaking to me..

Adeline and I were enjoying our nighty wrestling match when the following thought occurred to me, in rhyming haiku, no less.  (Calcaneus is the heel bone.  Two heel bones make calcanei)

Dear BJ's customer...

It was nice of you to admire my daughters.  Yes, they do both have very blue eyes.  Yes, they are very sweet.  However, after remarking about how adorable Camille is, you really didn't need to look at Adeline and say, "You're pretty too sweetheart, just not NEARLY as pretty as your baby sister."

OH YES HE DID!!!  I know her hair had a bit of post-nap craziness going on but SERIOUSLY you can't say things like that to another human being, especially not a kid!  I am so glad her little two year old self was oblivious to the whole thing.  Unbelievable!  I didn't know exactly how to respond so I just said, "Yes, I have been blessed with TWO beautiful girls."

"Adeline, can you get a toy for Camille?"

Mommy's Helper

This is what happens when you let your toddler lick the spoon after making malted milk ball rice crispy treats...and then she decides to eat cereal. I thought she looked like an adorable little treat.

I know many of you read Leigh Ann's blog as well as mine, so I thought it would be fun to see how many of you noticed the picture of her kids on this post. I did NOT know Leigh Ann was going to be on vacation that week. As I was walking the beach with my friends, I thought, "That little girl looks a lot like Elle." Before I had a chance to process this thought farther, one of my friends said, "Hey, those are Momma Roar's kids!!!" For those who don't know, LA and I went to high school together. Of course, she is MUCH older than me....

My friends also know LA from high school and sometimes read her blog. We scanned the beach and found LA and Travis sun bathing. Of course, I was standing right over her before she realized it was me, but that was just part of the fun. Hope you enjoy your week, LA...it was fun running into you!

It's stay in your head...trust me.
