Teacher's Tea

I've had so much fun stuff going on since coming home that I haven't had time to post it all.  Last week, my mom and I had the privilege of doing a tea party for the teachers from my elementary school.  They get together on a regular basis, and they asked my mom to do a tea (something we both enjoy...my mom is amazingly talented).  A few of these ladies started working there after I graduated from good ol' Sporting Hill Elementary, but my 1st, 3rd, and 6th grade teachers were there.  It was a bit windy but otherwise a nice day for an outdoor tea.

Devonshire cream in edible flowers (I forget what they are called) to go with the scones.

There were a few other courses, but I missed taking pictures of them.  We served a lemon ice cream pie (which is my favorite dessert on the planet) with these other tasty treats.

What a fun thing to do. I'm sure those teachers really appreciated it, and how fun for you to see them again!

Oh I so wish I could've come to that! When we had our brief stay in New York and my sis came out to visit, my mother-in-law treated the 3 of us to High Tea at Bergdorf Dorman's (is this how you spell it?) and it was the most amazing experience I have ever had. My MIL said we were all having a "feminine moment" away from all the boys. Feminine and Fun was exactly what it was! Glad you got to enjoy that with your mother!

Yum!!!

That lemon ice cream pie. I will never forget it as long as I live.

I have never been to a tea party. One at your Mom's house seems like heaven on earth.

Miss you.

Looks beautiful as usual when catered by your mom - she truly has a gift for hosting tea parties (well, any event, for that matter!)

I definitely need to try that lemon ice cream pie when I'm back on dairy, so please post that recipe!

Hope your house-hunting efforts are successful today...

Wow, Lynn - not to sound completely uncouth, but that's a whole lotta fancy and would have been a fun party to attend! It looks like it was a wonderful time - and the food sounds amazing.
