Mother's Day and other randomness

I bought these refrigerator magnets a few weeks ago, thinking they would be fun for Adeline and encourage her to practice standing.  After several sessions of mom picking up all 26 letters from the floor (not the game I had envisioned), some ending up in Adeline's mouth, and one magnet falling out of a letter, we decided the letters would be more fun for the adults in the house.  So, we (okay mostly me) have been frequently changing the messages on the freezer.  The object is to get your point across while only having one of each letter.  Sometimes that means a crossword format is in order, and sometimes it means you have to improvise on some words...like my Mother's Day message.... see the comments section if you need help deciphering.

Patrick had to work all day on Sunday, so my Mother's Day extended into today.  He did have cards waiting at strategic locations for me on Sunday though (one from Adeline on her high chair tray, and one from him propped against the bathroom mirror).  He came home with flowers and peanut butter icecream with peanut butter swirls and mini chocolate PB cups.  Yum!  This morning, I was treated to breakfast (eggs, bacon, fresh pineapple, and blueberry pancakes from scratch!).  For those of you who know my husband, you know this is a real treat because the man lived on pasta and cereal before I married him.  He has many talents, but cooking does not make the list...yet.  :o)  He did a GREAT job though!

Here's my sweet girl showing off her mouth packed with LOTS of new teeth that are making her a bit testy this week.  This mama is DONE with the whining!  This teething thing does end...right?

One more piece of randomness that I must share with you, dear readers.  Many of you commented or emailed me after my recent Spring Fashions post asking if they REALLY wear this stuff.  Last week, Patrick and I drove past a man WEARING the striped pastel shirt!  I was a little too slow on the uptake (and there was construction in the way) to get a good picture for you.  Trust me, if it had been the teddy bear shirt (and if we weren't already late...and if it wasn't my fault) I would have leapt from a moving vehicle to get the pic for you.  Alas, you are just going to have to take my word for it....

Sounds like you had a great Mother's Day - Patrick sounds like a sweetheart to leave those strategic cards for you. :)

And, yes, the teething ends. At some point. What's interesting is that when it IS finally over and Ruthie was unusually fussy, the first thing that popped into my head was "At least I know it's not teeth - how many other times was it not teeth?" LOL! Motherhood is definitely more of an art than a science!

Yay! I deciphered your message correctly! It sounds like you had a very nice Mother's Day.
I'm wondering myself if Ryan will ever get all of his teeth, considering we've been working on these eye teeth for months now! :)
