This is the "It's a Small World" ride, that was politically NOT correct on so many levels. Adeline loved it though with all the lights, moving dolls and music playing.
...from this post.
First, let me say that much of the ride was well done. Here is one of the pictures to illustrate that point. There was music and singing dolls. There were lights and moving parts. It was perfect for small children.
1. Germany was portrayed by a beer garden...yep, giant cans of beer with flowing beer fountains. Tavern and all.
2. The USA...you know this must be good...we are represented by a field of football players and some cowboys on a hill.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting to see their take on all the different places. I wonder who helped them create it??
:-O
You know, that completely escaped me when I went on the Disneyland ride as a little girl -- a long, long, long, long time ago.
yep, thats all I see when I'm driving around the USA.
It just so happens, there are some cowboys and football players in the field behind our house right now!
And seriously, beer was the Germans' great contribution to society anyway, so I think it only appropriate that it was the focus of a ride for kids.
That is funny and wrong all at the same time!
I was appalled by the American stereotypes we faced while in Central America. Thankfully we had some prepping and knew what "innocent" behaviors to avoid, like making eye contact with men.
They thought all American women are like the blond (sorry blonds out there) loose bimbo's they see in the movies and soaps.
Ah...NO!
Sad, sad, sad.
While that is all so totally "wrong", sometimes I wish our country was not so PC and our "It's a small world" had a little more "edge" to it.
HAHAHAHA
