It was the middle...

Some of you saw my facebook status asking...
"Was it the sometimes uncoordinated, crazy first child or the "I want to do it myself," independent middle child that was the first to need stitches?" (or something like that)...

Those of you who guessed Camille are correct!  She and Adeline were being crazy playing on our bed when Camille took a dive over the edge and hit her head on my bedside table.  The cut was short but deep.  She happened to chose a day when we were headed to the clinic anyway for Nathaniel's two week well check up.  We swung by daddy's office, where the girls were going to stay to color/read/play leapster while I took Nathaniel to his appointment.  Change of plans....I took Adeline with me to Nathaniel's apt (he's healthy...weighing in at 8lbs, 9oz), and Patrick took Camille to the ER for stitches.  We all convened there.

Might as well use the waiting time to hold my baby brother!

They wrapped her in a sheet like a burrito, and she insisted that mommy hold her.

She SCREAMED the whole time and broke my heart.

When it was done, they gave her a popsicle, and like a light switch, she was "all better."  "This pah-sicle is nummy, mommy."  ....and she's been her joyful self ever since.

Poor Camille - poor Mommy too! I remember when our oldest got stitches. I think it was way harder on me than on her!

Oh, I can so relate, Lynn! Max was 19 months when he needed stitches in his lip. They wrapped him up in the sheet and he screamed the while time, too...it just tears out a mommy's heart! Glad that Camille's back to her smiling self again!

I'm glad that the gash is so close to her hairline.

When Destiny was about her age she got a deep gash on the middle of her forehead. It bled profusely and I was a WRECK!!!! We took her to the ER and she got stitches, but she still has a very visible scar in spite of using good scar creams for several years.

OH, poor baby! And poor momma. I've been there and it breaks your heart. My baby had to get his head glued just last week. Not as traumatic, but no fun!

Kiss your beautiful girl for me!

Sorry, friend!

isn't it amazing how they do that whole stitches thing?? thankfully daddy was able to pitch in. gatta love those ER runs, we are also on the frequent flyer club there. our 3rd is the stitch king, with our 1st being the hospital stay king. bekah wins the OT award for most therapy sessions and for most surgeries. how did mommy do??? it can be most rough on mommy!!

How did I COMPLETELY miss this entire adventure? I may be out of the blogging loop, but I do see your family on a regular basis! So sorry for Camille!
