Camille's Surgery

Thank you to everyone who prayed for Camille's strabismus surgery today.  Everything went really well, and we are home again.  She is such a morning girl that she didn't even mind us waking her at 5:45 to go to the hospital.  In the van, she just wanted to know, "Where Ady-ine?"

She cooperated with EVERYTHING....even the blood pressure and pulse ox on her toe.

She's so sweet, I could just eat her.  Joy personified....

Seriously!!!!

Grandma Barron met us at the hospital.

We took a little walk while we waited.  She charmed everyone.

Singing "Silent Night" with daddy while she drifted off to sleep.....
Only one of us could be with her during this time, and I opted for AFTER she was awake.
One more kiss from daddy.

She's all done!  She was screaming when I came back to see her, but she quickly calmed down and fell asleep in mommy's arms.

They wrapped her arm to keep her from pulling out her IV.

When she got a burst of energy, she was REALLY hungry.  We were afraid she might be nauseous, but she ate a whole banana and some pretzels.  She wanted to do everything by her "big girl self," so she was frustrated that she couldn't use her dominant right hand to reach in the pretzel bag.

Getting love from both grandmas at home (Grandma Nolt stayed home with Adeline).

Her eyes are a bit crossed and red (which is normal).  She should be back to herself by tomorrow.  We are so thankful.

that is amazing that you are home already, what a blessing!! long hospital stays and youngsters don't go together! did she get sick at all? both my kids got sick with the anesthesia. i would have chosen 'after' as well. i don't get along with blood!!

You are pretty awesome for doing this post so quickly. Jen G. and I were just discussing how little Camille might be doing by now. We both didn't want to call and disturb your household. And now we have answers. That is a great pic with her in your arms. Where ever did you find such a big banana for such a little girl?

Oh my gosh, I would have started bawling if someone started singing "Silent Night" right before my baby went in to surgery!

I'm so glad the surgery went well and that she's more or less in good spirits. Thank you for keeping us posted. I would've still been fretting.

These pictures are adorable and touching. She is so sweet! They bring tears to my eyes thinking of Justin's surgery coming up sometime in April-ish. How are her eyes now? -Rosie
