My birthday...

Patrick told me he had something planned for my birthday. He would take care of all the details including childcare. I LOVE surprises! I told him I was planning to wear a dress. He said I had to wear shorts. I wanted to wear flip-flops. He said I should wear sneakers. Really. Are you sure? My mom and my friend, Nancy, both thought I would have fun. I am hard to surprise but..... I. had. no. idea. There aren't many things that make my "fun" list that involve the specified attire. I started guessing in the car. Patrick was laughing at my meager attempts. We started heading for the city. um....I'm running out of ideas.

We took a tour of Washington DC on segways! Oh. My. Word!!! You have GOT to do this!!! They are the most amazing invention ever!

It was fun to have our picture taken in front of some of the standard tourist attractions after living in this area for so many years.

Oh, and did you notice....more plaid shorts. After all, it was my birthday.....

what a totally fun birthday gift!

i've only been on a segue once, and it was only for a moment. however, it seemed like it would be fun to ride.

also, josh rocks out the plaid shorts as well - LOVE THEM. it is sad to think that fall is coming and they're getting put away for awhile!

What a great idea! I have major foot troubles and last time we went to Chicago I messed my foot up from all the walking we did. My kids suggested doing just what you guys did. I think it might just be the answer! How fun!

Plaid boxers.

For the record, you did go to the same segway place as my family -- they only had 3 pink helmets. And my sister wore both a dress and flip-flops on her tour.

Anyway, Happy Birthday (again)!

Happy Belated Birthday Lynn! Glad you had a good time. :)

I TOTALLY WENT ON THIS SEGWAY TOUR! My whole family went about 2 years ago when my parents were up visiting from Florida. It was incredible and I would do it again in a heartbeat. You see so many sites and monuments in less time! Our tour guide was really interesting too. I do have to say I would always get nervous when we all had to make it through a crosswalk and the walk sign would countdown! And I also have to confess, I panicked and jumped off once. :) haha!

Sounds like lots of fun, even though it wasn't exactly what you were expecting. What a sweet hubby to plan such a great birthday outing!
