Now this is romance...

I haven't been posting a lot lately.  Life's been a bit crazy.  I know...you can't relate.  ;o)

I worked three days last week, and I am working Mon-Fri this week.  Patrick took a week of leave to stay home with the girls.  They are getting some great bonding time with daddy, and we don't have to pay a babysitter....nice.

Yesterday they went to the grocery store, Home Depot, Panera for a snack, and the park.  Today, they went to story hour at the mall followed by lunch at Chick-Fil-A (this was after doing laundry and cleaning up last night's dishes of course).  When I came home, they were sitting on the steps outside waiting for me....

My husband They had worked so hard...

I am SO sure I don't want to know what she put in that cup...

Camille:  What is this really meant to be?

...a hat of course.

They couldn't wait to show me this...

This is WAY better than flowers or candy (not that those things are EVER a bad idea).  I was squealing with joy when I pulled in the driveway.  I love Adeline's cheesy-so excited grin here.  What a way to set the tone for our evening.  Sweetie, I can learn so much from you...

That is great! He is one smart guy - the kids were occupied, excited to see your response and it made you happy. You better keep him!

Very sweet. It's great to hear how excited you got by their message. Sometimes its the things that cost the least that mean SO MUCH!

Awww! I love it! That is so sweet. I want a sign like that when I come home. Do you think your hubby can e-mail my hubby? LOL. We'll have to do that for my hubby when he gets home for work. He'd like it too.

The pictures of the kids are over the top stinkin' cute!

PATRICK ROCKS!!!!!!! I'm with Terra, can he email my husband so I can have a sign as well? Oh, never mind, it would look weird at our house since there are no little kids playing with chalk and a 52 year old man might look a bit strange playing sidewalk chalk all alone, hehe

That is seriously one of the sweetest things ever. I love that he was such a great daddy all day to his girls, and then thought enough to do something to make you smile when you came home. Sounds like you've got a keeper! :-)

what a clever idea. what a fun way to come home.

my husband is leaving for a 16 day mission trip in sept. he arrives home at midnight, then has to go to work first thing the next a.m.
i think i will steal this idea to welcome him home.

That is AWESOME!!

It reminded me of the time we had a sibling group of three little foster children when Anthony was in high school. I was away one winter Saturday while Dick and the older kids took care of the younger ones. I guess things got pretty hairy, because when I got home and walked in the door, Anthony said enthusiastically, "The savior has arrived!"
