I didn't know...

-  I would fall madly in love with my second child instantly.  I know everyone says you have enough love to go around, and I knew I would love my kids equally, but truth be told, the baby phase is usually not my favorite.  I like when there is a little more interaction....when they can do more than pee, poop, and eat.  But oh my goodness....I could kiss those sweet cheeks all. day. long.

-  God would use a C-Section to point out issues of pride in my life, and redirect my perspective to what is truly important.

-  I would still look 5 months pregnant a week after giving birth....yeah, I remember wearing maternity clothes for a while after Adeline was born, but I am really looking forward to my belly not sticking out as far as my *boobs*!

-...my 2 year old would get a fever two days after we came home from the hospital and thrust me into the reality of being a mom to two (who both need mommy...a lot).

-...how much I would LOVE watching Adeline and Patrick bond with Camille.  Patrick already has this look of daddy protection when he holds her.  He has "daddy magic" that calms her when she is fussy.  It melts my heart.  I'll do another post about Adeline and Camille....

-...Adeline would look like she aged three years after bringing home this little one.  Seriously folks, she's HUGE!!!  What happened to my "baby girl?"

-...and those newborn diapers....holy tiny cuteness!

I remember those days - especially the part about your other child suddenly looking so big!
The love you feel is amazing - a gift from God that grows and expands for each child!

okay, so here i sit at my computer and if i look down..i know it's there...the belly bulge that yes indeed does stick out the same width as my boobs. YOU are a hoot!

i sure know what you mean about the first kiddo seeming so much older so quickly. heartbreaking, but there's so much joy around who can be bummed!

I remember thinking the same thing about how the oldest magically appears so much older as soon as the baby is born. I'm glad to hear you're settling in well to your new "mommy of 2" role, even through times of great mommy demand!

I was warned, but I too remember being shocked by how big the older siblings got while in the hospital. And I agree one of my fav things was and still is watching my children interact with each other.

Oh my - boy, do I remember coming home from the hospital with Max, holding Jack, and thinking, "HOLY COW - What happened to my baby?"

Your belly will shrink back. It will. And, if you're anything like me, so will your *boobs*.

Looking forward to more and more and more and more pics! :):)

I remember picking up N after e was born and thinking, holy cow, this kid weighs a ton! N was sick when e was born too, so I was also instantly thrown into double mommying. (Oh, thank goodness for Grandma!)

Very sweet post. Yeah. That part about your first child looking like a giant is quite the shocker. Everybody told me that would happen, but I couldn't believe how LG went from looking so tiny and baby-like to looking like this huge child next to BB. It was so weird. Hope the adjustment with the 2 is going well. I am sure you are handling it beautifully. :-)

I thoroughly enjoyed the pictures. Those chubby cheeks look absolutely kissable!

Unfortunately, I'm still battling to keep my boobs sticking out further than my belly - and I haven't had a baby for 29 years!

Hope you're surviving the adjustment and that Adeline is feeling better!

I could have told you all those things, but until you live them you can't even imagine!

Love you, sweet lady!

Amazing, isn't it? We think we know so much, until God brings something into our lives to change it all around and find out it was better than the way it was before!!

Hugs!!

It's amazing how you love each of them infinitely!!!

Eric and I talk right now about how big David is going to be soon. Boy - it changes that instantly.

And suddenly having "just one" to run an errand with seems so easy. WE talk about that before each one now. Three seems hard now, but soon it will be "easy".

And pride...God used some issues with nursing to deal with me - hence I can't nurse my babies. Gone was the "perfect" Mary plan :) Here was the established God plan that built trust and tore down pride. So i understand!

I'm nodding my head, chuckling, and saying, "Yup, you got THAT right!" after each and every one of these things! HA HA

Oh, and if no one has ever told you that with the second one, EVERYTHING seems to go so much faster, consider yourself forewarned. :o) My newborn just turned 5 mos. old! WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN?!?!?!?!

Here's to shrinking belly bulges and sagging boobs once all of this is over. :oP

Congratulations! Isn't it amazing how big and HEAVY the older ones suddenly feel? And that belly... let's not even talk about that!
