For the first time....

....I ordered eggplant parmesan last night.  I now know why I haven't ordered it before....it tasted like soggy bread.  I drank raspberry tea, and Patrick gave me a foot massage (there are some accupressure points on your heals for labor).  I should also mention that my sweet hubby painted my toenails for me.  I've been wanting pretty toes for weeks.  He's nice like that.

Tonight, I am still pregnant.  I had a midwife appointment, and she "stretched me."  I am almost at 5cm, the head is even with my pelvis, and my water is bulging.  She thinks the baby just needs to turn a little, and we may be headed in for the real thing.  She is fairly confident that this labor will be faster than Adeline's (ya know, since I was still only 3 cm after about 12 hours of hard labor with her).  We're excited.  Keep praying.  Hopefully my next post will be with some news......

Any other home put-you-in-labor remedies out there?

I've always heard spicy food and a little "quality time" with your hubbie... because I know you're in the mood for that!

Yep, I was gonna say what keenbliss said - although I wasn't going to use the term "quality time" :)

Hang in there. This waiting will seem like ancient history in a month when you are taking care of your sweetie pie newborn.

I had my membranes scraped by my midwife and she said it works 50% of the time...it worked for me! (Don't you just love the term and the warm fuzzies it conjures?!)

My labor with Adam was DEFINATELY faster--hoping and praying this little one arrives soon and safely.

LOL about the "theme" in advice already given - I was going to say that, but couldn't think of a tactful way to put it...

I drank raspberry tea for the last month or two - more often in the weeks before my due date. I also went for lots of walks with the stroller and planted all my hanging baskets the day before I went into labor with Max, so go do some manual labor! (just what you feel like, right?)

I second the advice that the second labor is quicker - Max was born exactly 33 minutes after arriving in labor & delivery - my kind of labor!

I'll be checking for some news soon - maybe you'll hit Max's birthday tomorrow!

Six pieces of licorice and running up six flights of steps, two at a time, worked for my friend. I'm not sure I could do that while not pregnant so I don't really recommend it.
You'll be on the other side soon!
