...your mom is helping you with all the craziness of unpacking, you are helping her carry things to her car so she can leave in time for an appointment, and your toddler closes the door behind you and you realize she is locked inside and you are locked outside? You use your mom's cell phone to...wait, that's locked in the house too. You go door to door to introduce yourself to your new neighbors until you find someone home who will listen to your pathetic story and lone you a phone....all the while wishing desperately that you had put on a bra that morning. THEN, you go to the back deck to try to spot your daughter in the house and play endless rounds of peek-a-boo and name your body parts to keep her in sight until daddy drives all the way home from work to rescue you. Not that I would know.....

I'm impressed at how you handled the situation (I would have been panicking!) Sounds like Adeline had fun!
Since all turned out well - this is a great story! What a way to meet the neighbors!
Oh no! That is my nightmere. N locked himself in a bathroom recently, but I managed to talk him through unlocking it... but aaack! I also met my neighbor for the first time braless when he parked in our driveway... but not such a big deal for me! Good idea to play peek-a-boo to keep her in sight! I'm sure Patrick was thrilled...
Well, that's one way to make an impression on your neighbors! So glad that Adeline was okay and Patrick was able to come home to let you back in. Did your mom make it to her appointment on time?
OH MY GOODNESS! You crack me up! I hope you can smile about this now that it's past. So crazy!
Oh and what's your new phone number? Do you guys have plans for lunch on Sunday? We'd love to have you over!
Oh that's horrible.
And horribly funny.
Oh and so horrible.
No bra? Seriously? That's the worst. I'm sure your sweet new neighbors will give you a second chance to make that 1st impression! Ah man. That's o.k. - you got a good story for the blog and something for Adeline's baby book too!
Hee Hee
Oh, that is too funny. And just so typical of what would happen to me too. I am glad that I am not the only one that crazy things happen to.
OH MY!
Oh Lynn, my heart jumped up into my throat when I read about this! It made me wish we lived even closer! Wanna give us a spare key=)?
(and a spare bra?) teehee
Seriously - that is SO something that would happen to me. I'm surprised it hasn't yet, actually. :) I think the fact that you had no bra on is my fave detail, as that makes it even more something I can relate to. Glad it had a happy ending...makes for more smiles that way.
Wow, I'm glad Patrick answered his phone. I locked Destiny in my car one August evening (when she was 11 months old) and Dick did NOT answer his phone because he was playing basketball. I had to call 911 and wait for what seemed like endless minutes for the police to come. Guess what they did? Broke the car window with a bat or something. I was very close to doing that myself as I became more and more desperate. A truly horrible experience.
LOL...oh it happens more often than you think ;)
Had a friend do it, only to find a neighbor's phone, come back to see her almost 2 year old bleeding profusely and screaming in the house....AHHHHH!
Luckily - it all turned out fine - jsut a cut lip.
LOL about the bra though....
I am not kidding you, that exact same thing happened to a friend of mine. Bra-less and all.
thanks for the laugh! Time to hide your spare key in the bushes.
LOL - Oh Lynn, what a story. Glad it worked out, but it had to be scary in the moment!
Oh my word... I can laugh now that it all turned out okay right??
I am glad everyone is okay....
Lynn... this CRACKS me up! Oh what a story and you tell it so well! Now, as any blogging mommy knows...other than a key, I bet you wished you had your camera!!! :)
what do you do?? You just laugh!!
