We have been praying with Adeline for most of her life. At the dinner table, she knows to fold her hands and "close" her eyes (doesn't last long) to pray to Jesus. For a few months now, we have encouraged her to join in prayer time by thanking Jesus. Here are some of the things she has thanked Jesus for in the past few weeks...
park
swings
sliding boards
grandma
pawpaw
mommy
daddy
bunnies
airplanes
Florida
milk
paci's
sheep
ice cream
Mommy's version....."Thank you Jesus that when Adeline found self tanning lotion (from many years ago that I will NEVER use again) while mommy was in the shower AND opened the lid AND had some of the lotion land on the floor that she LISTENED and OBEYED mommy and DID NOT touch the lotion." Yeah, God knows how to bless me...

Those innocent prayers are so wonderful. My oldest daughter used to peek just a little and then thank God for everything she could name in the room.
Your prayer was great too! :)
I love the listening to the sweet prayers of my children. Can only imagine they make our Lord smile as well. Keep up the great work raising her up with a love for and gratitude to our Lord.
So good that she listened! Good girl, Adeline!
Natalia has gotten to the point now where she will sometimes pray the "God is Great" dinner prayer by herself for our meals. So cute.
Still cracks me up when I think of how, on one of her first attempts, she said, "...by His hands we all are Fred." (There's an uncle Fred in our family too--HA HA!)
Oh that could've went oh so wrong!!! :-) Good job Adeline for listening to mommy. Those shower moments can be tricky when they are free to roam for the whole 5 minutes we are in there! Great mothering job Lynn! :-)
I am very impressed that she didn't touch the lotion. Rock is rarely that obedient. And her thankful heart is precious -- my favorite one is Florida!
LOL!
Oh, the things these boys will get into if I attempt a shower. What a sweetie for listening to her Momma.
I love her. And, her prayers.
SO precious!
how cool you get to keep this FOREVER...her prayer list. it's priceless!
i love her sweet prayers :o)
you can never tell what these kiddos will get into while their mamas try to take a shower. glad she obeyed her mama and didn't get that lotion all over herself.
Yes, the sweetness of a child's prayers - so precious. Can you imagine how they sound to God?
I loved hearing all the things Adeline is thankful for. We always ask Ryan what he is thankful at bedtime, and some of the things he comes up with are just too funny. You can never start to cultivate a thankful heart too soon!
Oh my goodness, Lynn! Can you imagine if she had put it on? I mean, what a mess, but I really had a giggle about that!
So sweet that she's learning to pray this early! We're doing the same with the girls and it just blesses my heart on those days when they *really* get it.
