6 Unimportant Things
Leigh Ann tagged me for this meme....here are the rules:
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. Share six unimportant things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your entry.
You won't learn much about me from these, but hopefully you'll be mildly entertained...
1 - I rarely chew gum.
2 - I am in my PJ's.
3 - I need to fold the towels that just finished in my dryer...but probably won't until tomorrow.
4 - I usually sleep on my side.
5 - I've never had a cavity.
6 - I have large membranes in my nose and would sometimes have nosebleeds for over 2 hours and have to go to a doctor to get them stopped when I was a kid. Suffice it to say, that problem has been treated. I'll spare you the details. (Heidi...I know you're laughing....no need to tell any stories). ;o)
Tagging 6 people......
I learned from Just Mom that it is possible to break these rules....I KNOW...Who knew?!?!
So, I am going to forgo tagging anyone this time since I have been doing a good bit of tagging lately. If you want to play along, I would love to read your answers!

Pillars of the Earth
I have been blogging a bit less this week...partly because we've been busy (I'll get those posts up eventually), and partly because of this book!!! Has anyone else read it?Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett started out as quite an undertaking. It is almost 1,000 pages, and it took, me almost 300 to really get into the story. Then, I couldn't put it down! I would force myself to put it down to go to bed, and I found myself dreaming about the plot (like when you watch an action movie or drama and then immediately go to bed). There are certainly sections that could be removed. It would be a much better novel at around 600 or 700 pages.
It is set in England in the 1100's. The theme running throughout is the struggle between good and evil, and the plot predictably volleyed from one to the next. Evil would have a taste of victory and then would be overcome by good...over and over again. The characters pretty clearly fall on one side or the other, and you quickly love the ones you are supposed to love and wish death and destruction for those you are supposed to hate. Overall, I enjoyed it. It had just the right amount of suspense mingled with hope.

Another "Hair"raising Adventure
I didn't think I would get the honor of being present for not one but TWO major hair transitions this year. My friend, Amanda, cuts her hair every two years and donates it to "locks of love." It was another exciting girls' day at the salon!
As a side note, I am happy to report that Christie has kept up with her new style and still looks cute as ever!

Bloggy Flip-Flop Swap

My very fun blogging friend, Alana, hosted this Bloggy flip-flop swap at her blog. Since she is so sweet and since I love new summer accessories, I participated. Thank you so much to Earen, another blogging friend for these super cute pink and red plaid flip-flops that are adorable and fit perfectly! You can head here to Alana's site to see the other fine flops that were shared. Thanks ladies, this was a lot of fun!

Let's get one thing straight....
When I revealed the results of my giveaway, many of you commented that it must have been rigged. One of my favorite things about blogging is the silly comments and the banter between us. So, in the spirit of said banter, I gotta tell you....if I was going to rig this contest, there would have been a WHOLE lot more winners in Korea. Seriously, at least 20% of my commenters were friends from here, but could I pick JUST ONE of them to save the hassle of packaging everything and paying for postage....OH NO!!! Not even one!!! Congratulations again to those of you who won, and I will get my tush in gear soon to get it all out to you.
Water Park!
This weekend, a group of us went to this awesome water park at Camp Humphrey's (an army base about 25 min south of here). They have some fun slides and waterfalls for the kids, but the kids part was cold and Adeline was not so into it.
Don't tell Adeline these are supposed to go in the water. She had way more fun with them on the concrete.

If I don't hear from you in a few days, I will send you an email to let you know you won, but I think it is so fun to be surprised when you go to someone's blog and find out YOU WON!!!

In other news, I picked up the jerseys today, and they look great! They had to fix just a few, and I will pick them up tomorrow. SOOOO....if you ordered jerseys, send me an address for those as well. I managed to do a bit more bargaining in the end, but I have to see how much shipping will cost before I send you the totals.

Adeline Makes Friends
As usual, Adeline seems to draw attention where ever we go in Korea (as do other children...especially blonde haired, blue eyed ones). Here are some more pictures from our trip to the Korean Folk Village.
Watching Adeline play with this little Korean girl was priceless.
Here is something else that happens a lot in Korea that just does not happen in the US. People (including grown men) will want to pose for a picture with Adeline. This is especially popular among teenagers, but it happens with men and women of all ages. While I was watching one of the shows and Patrick was watching Adeline, he said people were constantly coming up to take her picture....almost always using a camera phone.
And, of course, here is Adeline's friend, Caden, who came to the park with us.
